Job Description

Start here. Grow here.

Are you ready to join a team of flood risk specialists and shape the future of the Water Industry?

Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as an Associate Flood Risk Consultant in the Regulations and Development sector. As an Associate Consultant, you will technically lead and manage the production of flood risk consenting related documents for our major clients. You will join one of our rapidly growing UK offices, whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.

We are a close-knit team of consultants, engineers, technicians, hydrologists, hydraulic modellers and project managers. We work hard to give our team development opportunities, whether that is a secondment to see the client’s perspective, an assignment to spend time on site to manage a construction contract, or arranging training to allow you to grow.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Deliver: Lead & verify the production of documents such as flood risk assessments, strategic flood risk assessments, flood risk activity permits, Section 19 reports, and water resource chapters of EIAs.

Expertise: Lead input into tenders for complex and high-profile projects like nationally significant infrastructure projects.

Collaborate: Build strong relationships with clients and across technical discipline teams to ensure we successfully deliver a wide range of fluvial, coastal, surface water or drainage flood risk management projects.

Quality: Keep up-to-date with developments in legislation and guidelines that may affect our services; and use AECOM’s project management systems to deliver high-quality outputs to our clients in line with the agreed programme and budget.

Lead: Mentor staff within the team to support their professional development.

For the right applicants who are looking to further grow their leadership and operational capability, we also have part time opportunities to take on additional team responsibilities alongside this role. For example, managing and developing our teams to ensure brilliant delivery within our Water business in England & Wales, and driving AECOM’s culture, values and quality. Please flag in your application if such an additional role is of interest to you.
