Job description

AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN – USED VEHICLE & GENERAL REPAIR

FULL-TIME | ON-SITE | HOURLY BASE PAY + FLAG-HOUR PRODUCTION PAY

GET PAID FOR THE HOURS YOU’RE HERE — AND THE HOURS YOU TURN.

About Us

At Greenville Automotive Group , we are looking for a dependable, experienced Automotive Technician to join our used vehicle and general repair operation.

This position is ideal for someone who is a strong all-around mechanic, enjoys working on a variety of makes and models, and takes pride in getting vehicles inspected, repaired, and back on the road quickly and correctly.

You do not have to be a Master Technician or have years of factory certifications to be valuable in our shop.

What matters most is that you know your way around a vehicle, can identify problems accurately, can complete repairs efficiently, and are dependable enough for your team to count on you.

If you are currently working in an independent repair shop, tire store, dealership, fleet operation, or similar environment and are looking for a better long-term opportunity, we want to talk to you.

A Pay Plan Built for Technicians

Most shops make technicians choose between the security of hourly pay and the earning potential of flat rate.

We don’t.

At Greenville Automotive Group, our technicians earn an hourly base rate for the time they are at work PLUS additional production pay for every flagged hour they turn.

That means you are compensated for being here and rewarded even more for producing.

Your individual hourly base rate and flag-hour production rate are determined by your experience, skill level, certifications, and overall ability.

The Formula Is Simple:

Hourly Base Pay + Overtime When Applicable + Flag-Hour Production Pay

If the shop slows down, a part is delayed, or a repair takes longer than expected, you are not simply sitting around unpaid.

And when you produce more, you earn more.

You get the security of hourly pay with the earning potential of production-based compensation.

What You’ll Do

Perform used vehicle inspections and mechanical evaluations

Diagnose and repair vehicles from a wide variety of manufacturers

Complete brakes, steering, and suspension repairs

Perform routine maintenance and fluid services

Diagnose and repair A/C and heating systems

Perform tune-ups, belts, hoses, batteries, starters, alternators, and similar repairs

Handle light electrical and drivability diagnosis

Perform minor engine and mechanical repairs

Identify safety concerns and needed reconditioning items

Complete used vehicle recon efficiently so vehicles can be prepared for sale

Communicate repair needs clearly with service and used vehicle management

Perform quality checks on completed repairs

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area

Work as part of a team to keep vehicles moving through the shop

What We’re Looking For

Previous professional automotive repair experience

Strong general mechanical ability

Ability to work on multiple makes and models

Experience with brakes, suspension, steering, maintenance, and general repair

Basic diagnostic and troubleshooting ability

Ability to inspect a vehicle and identify needed repairs

Ability to work independently and efficiently

Own professional automotive tools appropriate for your experience level

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Positive attitude and willingness to help the team

ASE certifications are a plus, but not required .

Dealership experience is also a plus, but not required .

If you are a good mechanic with real-world experience and a desire to continue improving your skills, we are interested in talking with you.

What We Offer

Unique Hourly Base + Flag-Hour Production Pay Plan

Base hourly pay determined by experience and skill level

Additional pay for every flagged hour produced
