As the site’s subject matter expert for electronic testing, you will take ownership of manufacturing and functional test activities, troubleshoot product and process failures, and optimise test equipment and processes to improve product quality, reliability and manufacturing performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working directly with electronic products and advanced manufacturing technology. You’ll work across a broad range of testing and inspection processes, including integrated circuit testing, Solder Paste Inspection (SPI), Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), functional testing and end-of-line testing. You’ll also play an important role in new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
JOB DUTIES:

Carry out testing, troubleshooting and failure analysis across SMT production processes, identifying root causes and supporting effective corrective actions
Develop, optimise and maintain test equipment, test programmes and measurement processes to improve test effectiveness, reliability and manufacturing performance
Support and enhance in-process, functional and end-of-line testing, ensuring robust and repeatable test processes throughout production
Investigate test failures, false rejects and non-conforming products, working with relevant engineering and manufacturing teams to identify and resolve underlying issues
Analyse measurement results, test data and diagnostic information to identify trends, recurring failures and opportunities for process improvement
Lead and contribute to productivity and continuous improvement projects, collaborating closely with Production, R&D, Maintenance, Quality, Process Engineering, HSE, SIOP and Sourcing
Manage the commissioning, qualification and validation of new test equipment, including preparation of technical documentation and Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R) studies
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, helping establish effective testing and measurement processes for products transitioning into manufacturing
Provide technical expertise to help resolve production and product-quality issues related to testing, measurement and electronic manufacturing processes
Support internal and external audits, ensuring test processes, equipment and associated documentation meet applicable quality and operational requirements
YOU MUST HAVE:
Knowledge of electronics and printed circuit boards (PCBs), with experience of electronic manufacturing processes such as Surface Mount Technology (SMT) or Through-Hole Technology (THT)
Experience of testing and inspection processes such as including Integrated Circuit Testing (ICT), Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)
Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
WE VALUE:
Innovative thinkers and strong team players
PLC programming or industrial automation experience
Experience with LabVIEW, Python, C/C++ or other test automation technologies
An interest in AI (Artificial Intelligence)
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU:
