You’ll be heading up a field team on the front lines of railway maintenance, making sure critical transport systems stay safe and run on schedule. It’s a perfect fit if you enjoy being out in the field solving technical problems hands-on rather than sitting at a desk all day.
Job description
Siemens Mobility is the trusted partner for sustainable and seamless rail transport solutions. As a Service Engineer, you will lead the regional field maintenance team in preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, emergency recovery and hands-on troubleshooting of project systems and equipment. This is a site-based operational leadership role focused on safe, timely restoration of railway service, rather than office-based system analysis. Discover what it is like to be part of our team in Taiwan!
Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise the regional maintenance team, including work allocation, shift coordination, safety compliance, technical guidance and quality control. Perform hands-on troubleshooting and repairs when required.
Manage major and general equipment failures, ensuring site arrival and repair completion within the specified response timeframes. Coordinate necessary support and promptly escalate safety, operational and restoration risks.
Diagnose and repair software, hardware, electrical, communication, interface and equipment failures in accordance with approved procedures and technical documentation, exercising sound professional judgment within delegated authority.
Plan and execute preventive maintenance in accordance with approved schedules and procedures, documenting completion and escalating recurring or safety-critical abnormalities.
Prepare and maintain accurate failure investigation, repair, preventive maintenance and handover records. Consolidate failure data and support RAM analysis and recurring-fault investigations.
Manage spare parts, consumables and replacement units, including inventory control, safety-stock monitoring, replenishment and accurate stock records.
Coordinate RMA and component repair processes, including traceability, shipment, repair follow-up and return-to-stock control.
Assess repair costs, lead times and technical conditions to recommend repair, replacement or no-repair decisions, where applicable.
Coordinate site access, permits, tools, test equipment, spare parts and cross-functional interfaces to ensure effective maintenance execution.
Coach team members on safety, equipment knowledge, troubleshooting and maintenance procedures, and perform other maintenance or emergency-response duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Railway, Control, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in railway signaling, control systems, electrical/electronic systems or similar safety-critical environments, including at least 2 years in team coordination or leadership.
Proven experience in fault diagnosis, service restoration, preventive maintenance, work coordination, technical reporting and corrective-action follow-up.
Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion:
We value your unique identity and perspective. We are fully committed to providing equitable opportunities and building a workplace that reflects the diversity of society. Come bring your authentic self and transform the everyday with us.
