ABOUT THE POSITION
Virtuos Japan is looking for a Business Development Producer to identify, develop, and pitch new game development opportunities with Japanese publishers and developers.
This role goes beyond traditional business development. The Business Development Producer will proactively identify opportunities around existing game IPs and propose new projects such as remakes, remasters, ports, and co-development initiatives.
A key part of the role is building a compelling rationale behind each proposal — why a particular IP or title should be revisited, why now is the right timing, what could be modernized or expanded, and how Virtuos can contribute to making the project successful.
The ideal candidate combines a strong network within the Japanese game industry with game knowledge, business acumen, analytical thinking, and the ability to turn ideas into compelling client proposals.
Founded in 2004, Virtuos is one of the largest independent video game development companies. We are headquartered in Singapore with offices in Asia, Europe, and North America. Specializing in full-cycle game development and art production, we have delivered high-quality content for more than 1,500 console, PC, and mobile games. Our clients include 23 of the top 25 gaming companies worldwide.
About Our Team
Virtuos Tokyo was launched in 2023, 14 years after we first set foot in Japan, to strengthen our partnerships with Japanese game companies. Our key clients include Square Enix, whom we’ve worked with on titles such as Final Fantasy X/X-2, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age and, NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition. We are excited to bring creative and technical game services, as well as global perspectives on game creation to our Japanese partners, and help take their games and businesses worldwide.
• Opportunities to contribute to the biggest Japanese and global games
• International mobility
• In-house and external training
• Healthy work-life balance and flexible work arrangements
People matter. Diverse opinions and experiences matter. At Virtuos, our talented teams are the cornerstone of our success, and we recognize that fostering and advocating for inclusivity is at the center of what we do best - we make games better, together. Virtuos is proud to be an equal opportunity employer that embraces diversity of thought, expression, culture, and backgrounds.
