Looking for a CDL-A driving position that lets you get home on weekends? This role offers guaranteed pay during training and a strong earning potential once solo, with a focus on Midwest routes. They even welcome new CDL graduates and provide paid training.

Job description

Fox Valley Class A drivers: Midwest runs that keep you close, and home on weekends.

Most first jobs out of CDL school keep you gone for weeks. This one runs the Midwest out of the Chicago and Indianapolis areas and brings you home for the weekend. New CDL-A holders are trained, paid, before they ever run solo.

What you earn

Paid every week during training

$1,000 a week guaranteed for your first 3 months solo

$1,000 to $1,700 a week once solo

1,600 to 2,000 miles a week; drivers average about 1,900

$15 per stop except the first and last

Weekly direct deposit

Your week

Midwest freight close to home: drop and hook, live loads, live unloads and preloads. Day and night dispatch, loads planned for you. Your weekends are at home.

From CDL school to your own truck

A recruiter calls you and reviews your CDL and driving record with you.

Orientation, 2 days at most. Hotel paid, one-way bus ticket reimbursed, $300 for orientation once hired.

4 to 6 weeks with a mentor: backing, trip planning, logs and fueling. You are paid every week.

Your own assigned truck, about 1.5 years old on average, automatic or 10-speed. For your first 3 months solo, your pay will not drop below $1,000 a week.

Straight answers for new drivers

"How often will I see home?" Weekends. That is the main reason drivers pick this seat.

"I am not good at backing yet." Nobody is on day one. You practice for weeks with a mentor beside you before you drive alone.

"Does my CDL school count?" If it was 120 hours or more, yes.

"Do I pay for orientation?" No. Hotel covered, bus ticket reimbursed, and $300 once you are hired.

"What if my first solo weeks are slow?" You still get at least $1,000 a week for your first 3 months solo.

What you need

Class A CDL from your state of residence, 21 or older

New CDL grad with 120+ school hours, or 6 months of recent experience

No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years

No DUI/DWI in the past 10 years

Benefits after 30 days

Medical, dental, vision and prescription

401(k) and employee stock purchase plan

Paid time off and yearly raises

Free online degree for you and one family member

Pet and rider programs (your dog can ride with you once training is done)
