Job Description
Sourcing & Purchasing: Source, evaluate and develop local and international packaging suppliers; obtain quotations, conduct cost comparisons and negotiate pricing, MOQ, payment terms, lead times and other commercial conditions.
Material Availability: Manage purchase orders and work closely with Planning, Production and Warehouse to ensure packaging materials are available according to production requirements while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
Supplier Management: Monitor supplier performance on quality, cost, delivery and service; resolve delivery or quality issues and develop alternative/backup suppliers for critical materials.
Packaging & Quality Coordination: Work with QA/QC, R&D and Production to ensure packaging materials meet approved specifications, food-safety requirements and production needs. Coordinate samples, technical documents and production trials for new materials or suppliers.
New Packaging Development: Support new products and packaging formats by sourcing samples, quotations, prototypes, tooling and alternative packaging solutions.
Cost & Procurement Control: Monitor packaging costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, maintain accurate supplier/purchasing data and ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Packaging Technology or related field.
Minimum 3 years of procurement experience at a manufacturing company, preferably in food, FMCG.
Packaging procurement experience is strongly preferred.
Good negotiation, cost analysis, supplier management and coordination skills.
Good English communication and comfortable with Microsoft Office, Power Point
Experience with imports and Incoterms.
Chinese speaking is a big plus
