Job description
About Nagomi
Security teams are not short on tools. They are short on time, alignment, and the ability to actually close exposure. That's why most breaches could have been prevented with a tool that was already in use.
Nagomi was built to change that.
We are the first Agentic Exposure Ops Platform, designed to prevent the preventable breach by turning fragmented signals into coordinated action. Our agents investigate risk, drive remediation, and verify that issues stay closed, continuously, without adding overhead.
Nagomi is helping organizations move from reactive workflows to continuous execution, replacing manual effort with systems that actually move the work forward.
The Opportunity
As a Security Researcher on the Whisper team, you'll sit at the intersection of cyber security, data analysis, and customer impact.
Your research will directly shape how organizations understand and improve their security posture - and how Nagomi's platform evolves to stay ahead of the adversary.
You'll be feeding the intelligence layer that powers Nagomi's AI agents - the data you ingest and the models you define directly drive how our agents reason about risk, prioritize threats, and guide customers to action.
You'll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, data and customer-facing teams, bringing the attacker's perspective to everything we build.
What You'll Do
Conduct in-depth research across a broad landscape of enterprise security tools - analyzing how they work, what telemetry and configurations they expose, and how they can be optimized to strengthen an organization's overall security posture
Define and map realistic attack flows, identify security gaps, and surface toxic combinations that help customers prioritize the risks that matter most
Apply data analysis and domain expertise to produce meaningful risk assessments and actionable insights tailored to specific industries and enterprise environments
Engage directly with customers to help them understand their exposure and achieve measurable improvements in their security posture
Define and curate the data pipelines and knowledge that feed Nagomi's AI-powered product agent, ensuring it delivers accurate, context-aware security guidance
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate research findings into platform features and detection capabilities
Contribute to strategic decisions around the direction of Nagomi's research capabilities and threat modeling frameworks
Requirements
5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise cybersecurity research / Red teaming
Broad familiarity with a wide range of enterprise security tools (e.g., firewalls, CASB, DLP, IAM, NDR, email security, vulnerability management) - understanding how they work, what data they produce, and how they impact network security posture
Working knowledge of network topology, enterprise architecture, and security best practices
Strong understanding of the attacker's perspective - how adversaries think, move laterally, and exploit gaps in enterprise environments
Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience working directly with customers or stakeholders
It’s nice if you have
Scripting and coding proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Basic SQL, or similar
Prior experience in a startup or high-growth security company
Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) or hybrid enterprise environments
Interest or experience in working with AI/LLM-based systems, prompt engineering, or agentic workflows
Familiarity with how AI agents consume and act on structured security data
Published research, CVEs, conference talks, or open-source contributions
