Job description

As Lead Skills, you will play a pivotal role in transforming NN into a skills-based organisation, ensuring that skills are embedded as a core component of our people strategy. You will be the business owner of the enterprise skills framework, responsible for defining, governing, and embedding skills as a core building block of our workforce planning and talent practices. You will ensure a consistent and future-focused approach to skills across NN, connecting business strategy, workforce needs, and employee development. Working closely with HR Centres of Expertise (possible future product teams), HR Business Partners, Data & Digital, and business stakeholders, you will translate strategic workforce requirements into a scalable skills architecture that enables internal mobility, workforce agility, and sustainable talent development.

What you are going to do

Key Responsibilities:

Skills Strategy and Governance: Own and evolve NN's enterprise skills framework, maintaining the skills taxonomy, and ensuring alignment with business strategy and workforce priorities

Skills Integration: Embed skills into key HR processes such as Talent Acquisition, Internal Mobility, Career Development, and Performance Management

Organisational Transformation: Lead the development and implementation of skills-based organisation strategies and drive change related to skills transformation

Skills Data and Technology: Define business requirements for skills-related technology solutions and act as the business owner for relevant capabilities within HR technology platforms

What we offer you

NN invests in an inclusive, inspiring work environment and in skills and competences for the future. We match this with employee benefits that are in line with what is needed today and in the future. This way, we offer our employees the opportunity to get the best out of themselves. We offer you:

Salary between €8,446 and €11,262 (based on 40 hours) depending on your knowledge and experience

13th month and holiday allowance are paid with your monthly salary

27 days of annual leave for a 5-day working week and three Diversity Days

A modern pension administered by BeFrank

Plenty of training and learning opportunities

NS Business Card second class, which gives you unlimited travel, including private travel. Do you prefer to travel using your own transport? Then you can claim the kilometres travelled

Allowances for setting up your home office and for internet use

Who you are

You hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field

You have extensive experience in leading workforce transformation initiatives within complex international organisations

You possess deep expertise in designing and implementing skills frameworks and taxonomies that align with business strategies and enhance talent management

You excel in stakeholder management, effectively engaging diverse teams to drive the adoption of skills-based practices across HR processes

With strong analytical skills, you translate strategic workforce needs into practical frameworks, ensuring alignment with emerging labour market trends

You have experience working in an international skills-based organisation or have worked as a consultant implementing skills-based practices for international organisations

Exceptional communication and presentation skills, fluent in English (Dutch proficiency is a plus)

Who you will work with

In your role, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders across the organisation to drive the skills-based transformation. You will partner with HR Centres of Expertise and Product Teams to ensure the effective integration of skills into all HR processes, from talent acquisition to career development and succession planning.

Working alongside HR Business Partners, you will align skills frameworks with workforce planning and talent management strategies, ensuring that the organisation’s workforce is equipped to meet current and future demands. Additionally, you will engage with Data & Digital teams to leverage insights and technology solutions that enhance skills governance and management.

Your interactions will also extend to business leaders across NN, where you will facilitate discussions on skills integration and drive commitment to the organisation’s skills-based initiatives.
