Job description
Major Food Group is hiring Part-Time AM & PM Line Cooks to join our team at Parm Mulberry! Since the original location of Parm opened in New York City’s Little Italy in 2011, the restaurant’s takes on Italian-American soul food have reached iconic status. From the prized Chicken Parm to the homemade meatballs to the Rigatoni Carbone, the menu is inspired by the cooking Michelin-Starred chefs Mario Carbone and Rich Torrisi ate growing up. The goal is to make the best versions of these recognizable dishes while remaining faithful to their history—and to serve them in a fun, familial environment. We are looking for experienced Back of House professionals with strong work ethic to help set and maintain the highest standards of cuisine and professionalism.
**Weekend availability required for this role**
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
Clean up station and take care of leftover food
Stock inventory appropriately
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
REQUIREMENTS:
1-2 years culinary experience preferred
Culinary diploma or equivalent in experience strongly preferred
Team-orientated and positive attitude
Strong communication skills a must
