Job description
Location
On-Site: This position is based in our South Salt Lake City, Utah office and requires regular on-site attendance.
About the role:
The Senior Accountant owns significant portions of PDQ's month-end close, and serves as a go-to resource for accurate, timely financial reporting. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you'll own complex reconciliations, review work prepared by Staff Accountants, and drive improvements across accounts payable, accounts receivable and revenue. This role suits an experienced accountant who wants ownership and the chance to help build scalable processes in a growing SaaS business running NetSuite. Our accounting team is AI-forward, and we actively use modern tools to automate the close and reporting, so the team can spend it's time on analysis and judgement.
How you might spend your day:
Own and complete complex account reconciliations and journal entries to close the books each month
Review staff accountant work across AP, AR, and month-end reconciliations; provide
coaching and feedback
Oversee revenue recording and ensure billing, deferred revenue, and recognition are
accurate
Manage AP and AR workflows, resolving escalations and strengthening controls across
the cash cycle
Prepare and review audit support schedules and draft variance explanations for KPMG
Partner with FP&A on the monthly reporting package and investigate account variances
Partner with cross-functional teams including FP&A, Payroll, Revenue, and external
auditors
Contribute to team initiatives, process improvements, and strategic goals
Support continuous improvement through feedback, learning, and innovation
We're looking for people who have:
Must Have:
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of the full-cycle month-end close
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Strong technical accounting knowledge under US GAAP, including reconciliations and
journal entries
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills and hands-on experience working within an ERP
Proven ability to manage multiple close deadlines independently and accurately
Nice to Have:
Experience with NetSuite
SaaS or subscription revenue experience, including revenue recognition under ASC 606
Active CPA license, or active pursuit of one
Experience using AI tools to automate accounting workflows or the month-end close
Experience supporting external audits and mentoring junior accountants Nice to Have:
Who you are:
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Adaptability and comfort working in evolving environments.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.
Curiosity, initiative, and a continuous learning mindset.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Energized by using AI and automation to remove manual work and reshape how the close gets done.
Comfortable owning deliverables end to end and raising the bar for the team.
