We work as an exclusive partner to leading AEC and technology organizations that are advancing the built environment through innovation, technical rigor, and transformative work.
COMPANY
Our client works within the aviation sector, partnering with airports, public agencies, airlines, and project teams to plan and deliver facilities that move people safely and efficiently. Its work may include airport master planning, terminal and support-facility design, airfield infrastructure, and landside improvements. Projects balance operational continuity, passenger experience, technical standards, sustainability, and long-term growth within highly coordinated, regulated environments.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Aviation Planner will help airport sponsors and project teams make informed decisions about capacity, facilities, access, land use, and long-term development. The role blends technical analysis, clear communication, and stakeholder engagement across master plans, system plans, airport layout plans, feasibility studies, and related planning assignments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare forecasts, technical memoranda, planning reports, graphics, presentations, and public-facing materials
Apply current FAA planning guidance, design standards, grant requirements, and sponsor criteria
Coordinate with airport staff, agencies, airlines, tenants, engineers, architects, and community stakeholders
Use GIS, spreadsheets, databases, and planning tools to organize and interpret technical information
Support public meetings, stakeholder workshops, and presentations to boards or agencies
Manage assigned tasks, schedules, budgets, and quality reviews across multiple projects
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Aviation Planning, Urban or Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field; master's degree preferred
4+ years of aviation, transportation, infrastructure, or public-sector planning experience
Familiarity with FAA airport master planning guidance and airport design standards
Strong quantitative analysis, technical writing, presentation, and facilitation skills
Proficiency with GIS and Microsoft Office; aviation forecasting or simulation experience is a plus
AICP certification or progress toward certification preferred
Ability to travel for site visits, workshops, and client meetings
All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and must already possess long-term work authorization.
